Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Saturday announced a 15% relaxation in syllabus for students of Classes 10, 11, and 12 appearing in the Annual Regular 2025 (October–November session) examinations.
According to a notification, the relaxation has been granted in view of the delayed start of the academic session this year and disruptions caused by prolonged heat waves, torrential rains, and floods across several regions.
“It is hereby notified that students appearing in Class 10, 11, and 12 examinations in the Kashmir Division, winter zone areas of the Jammu Division, and the Union Territory of Ladakh shall attempt 85% of the question paper, which will correspond to 100% marks, thereby availing a 15% relaxation in syllabus,” the Board said.
The JKBOSE clarified that the question papers will be framed from the entire prescribed syllabus, but students will be required to attempt only 85% of the questions, with internal choices provided accordingly.
The decision, the Board said, was taken following recommendations from the Directorates of School Education in Kashmir and Jammu and requests from various stakeholders citing loss of instructional time.
It added that multiple-choice questions and grammar portions in language papers will follow the same marking pattern, ensuring uniformity in evaluation.
